Matt Hennesy, head football coach of the Bartlesville Bruins, brings more than three decades of coaching experience and a proven record of transforming athletic programs through leadership, discipline, and culture. Since being hired in December 2025, Coach Hennesy has focused on building a championship mindset within the Bruins program, emphasizing character, accountability, and the daily habits that lead to long-term success both on and off the field.

A graduate of Enid High School, where he was a member of a state championship team, Hennesy continued his football career as a linebacker at Kansas State University, earning Academic All-Big 8 honors. His coaching résumé includes head coaching stops at Dodge City, Muskogee, Locust Grove, and Pawhuska, as well as serving as an assistant coach at Jenks, where he helped capture three state championships. At Pawhuska, he engineered one of Oklahoma's most impressive program turnarounds, guiding the Huskies from an 0-10 season before his arrival to a 72-25 record, eight consecutive playoff appearances, and three state semifinal finishes. He has also represented the United States as both a defensive coordinator and head coach for USA Football National Teams.
